In this short course I use examples from our everyday lives to introduce you to the foundations of statistics, without being overwhelmed by formulae or number crunching.
What you’ll learn
Your data literacy will be developed to leave you:
- confident interpreting numbers presented in the media, meetings, and reports
- comfortable understanding how statistical estimates are produced
- appreciating how data can be manipulated to tell a certain story
- recognising why there are so many ways to collect data
This course will cover less content than “traditional” intro stats courses, but you will leave with a deeper understanding of key statistical concepts.
If you have previously completed an intro stats course and all that chat about p-values, test statistics, and confidence intervals still do not make sense, you will be enlightened about these too!
Who it’s for
The intro stats course is suitable for anyone who wants to demystify statistics and be more confident and comfortable around the data in their workplace and personal life. This includes individuals:
- producing or interpreting reports
- looking to advance their career options by increasing their data literacy
- struggling to convey statistical results to clients or colleagues
- simply wanting to expand their statistical knowledge
