I am passionate about empowering others to be more confident around data

Hi I’m Nicole,

My career has been anything but boring. For the past 15 years I have worked as a biostatistician with organisations such as NSW Health. I have also taught statistics at almost every university in Sydney.

I have enjoyed teaming up with experts across many fields to increase our understanding on topics such as aging and health service utilisation. These experts bring the content knowledge and the question to answer. I bring the stats knowledge to design and critically appraise studies, analyse large data collections, apply appropriate statistical methods, and assist with the interpretation and communication of results.

Simplify Stats is my business to address the data literacy pain points I have observed in colleagues and collaborators throughout my career. I wish to build the confidence of others in understanding the data and information in their everyday work, discussed in meetings or consultations, and produced in reports and publications.

My courses are far removed from university teaching models, stripping out the formulae and calculations, instead using varied techniques and my wealth of real-life experiences to allow participants to better understand information and how to communicate it to others using everyday language.
